New: Limited-availability in deregulated energy areas

Solar + Battery that pays you back and keeps the lights on

We're piloting an exclusive program for qualified homeowners in deregulated energy markets (like many parts of Texas): modern rooftop solar, home battery, and enrollment in eligible grid programs for smarter savings and stronger outage protection.

Outage Ready

Battery backup for storms, winter events, and rolling blackouts.

Smart Savings

Solar production + potential grid program credits where available.

Limited Spots

We're enrolling a small number of qualified homes per market.

Do you qualify?

  • You live in a deregulated energy area and are the homeowner
  • On‑time electric bill payment history (good standing).
  • Sun exposure > 1,000 hours/year for rooftop production.
  • Retail plan expiring or recently expired and your blended rate (energy + TDU) is > 13¢/kWh.
  • Area experiences regular outages (winter storms, heavy rain, tornadoes, or rolling blackouts).
  • FICO ≥ 650 (or above-average payment history), subject to credit approval.
Program availability, terms, and incentives vary by location and partner approval.

How the program works

Solar + Battery - We design a rooftop system sized to your usage and roof, paired with a home battery for backup and smart energy shifting.

GoodLeap TPO & Virtual Power Plant (VPP) - Where available, eligible systems can be financed via a third‑party ownership option and may be enrolled in a virtual power plant to support grid reliability. Learn more from GoodLeap's announcement here.

GoodLeap GoodGrid Buyback - Qualifying customers may be eligible for a monthly reward (e.g., $40/mo cash in pocket) through GoodGrid when enrolled and participating. Program terms and availability vary.

FAQs

Is the $40/mo "cash in pocket" guaranteed?
No. Any monthly reward depends on eligibility, enrollment, and continued participation in available programs such as GoodLeap GoodGrid. Terms and availability vary by market and may change. We'll show you the exact program terms for your address.
What if my current kWh rate is below 13¢?
You're still welcome to request a custom analysis. This limited program prioritizes homes with total blended rates over 13¢/kWh (energy + TDU) and expiring contracts, but we can explore other options.
How do batteries help during outages?
Your battery can keep critical circuits powered when the grid fails. We'll help you choose what to back up-like lights, internet, outlets, and medical devices-and show you how to use performance modes in the app.
